20th March - MK Dhol will be making their first public appearance of 2010 at the MK Diversity Ball.

21st March - Sainsbury's Sport Relief (1 mile) charity parade, Central MK

12th April - MK Dhol perform live at Bradwell Abbey

9th May - Launch of the ‘Kettle' youth band at The Stables Theatre
Young people from MK Dhol, SV2G Steel Orchestra (High Wycombe) & Lobo Tren MK Samba

15th May - MK Heritage Open weekend
Free ‘Festive Bikes' workshop, (booking is essential). Come down to our unit in Hollin Lane and spend a day tinkering with bikes to create an ‘Art Bike' for the MK International Festival

31st May - Luton Carnival
Festive Road will be entering MK Dhol & will be there supporting Lady Zia Werhner School and Beech Hill Primary School

12th June - West Bletchley Carnival
Festive Road will be running carnival making workshops in schools throughout West Bletchley in the lead up to this spectacular event, come and see their creations out on the road! MKDhol will be putting on a notoriously lively performance and pumping out their melodic Dhol drumming beats to get everyone on their feet! 

26th June - Woughton Carnival with live music from MK Dhol

3rd July - Wellingborough Carnival
Festive Road will be helping to bring the streets of Wellingborough to life again this year for the annual summer carnival. Wolleston School and Grendon School are excited to be joining the parade in their first carnival participatory experience!

4th July - Carnival in the Park, Cowley Road in Oxford.
Cowley Road will mark the start of the Festive Road's touring show for 2010! Oxford will be the first to see the ingenious Kettle band present their musical interpretation of the perfect cup of tea and High Tea performers will be stirring the audience into a frenzy! Live music will be supplied by Mk Dhol.

10th July - Grendon School carnival Fete

17th July - Bedford River Festival
Our very own MK Dhol will be entering again this year.

23rd July - IF Milton Keynes International Festival Midsummer Place, Tea Time (4pm).
Bringing the Kettle to the Boil will set a tea-tastic challenge to the people of Milton Keynes... How many people does it take to bring a giant musical kettle to the boil? This event forms part of the Olympic Open Weekend!

24th July - High Wycombe Festival
Third stop for the Festive Road tour! This event will feature a live performance by the kettle band and High Tea performers.

25th July - IF Milton Keynes International Festival ‘Big Picnic' at Campbell park (2.30pm)
The penultimate performance for the Festive Road touring show! This event will show off Festive Road's new Kettle band and High Tea will be performing, accompanied by live music from MKDhol.

12th September - Thames Festival
The Thames Festival will be the last performance of the season for the Kettle band and the High Tea artistes! Come along and see the artistes perform their hearts out at the Grande finale!


Creative Partnerships Schools for UKCCA
UKCCA

• Beech Hill Primary School, Luton
Festive Road is making costumes and leading Dhol drumming sessions with children and their families throughout March and April to enter the school in Luton Carnival.

• Farley Junior School, Luton
Festive Road are the lead partners in this Change School for Creative Partnerships which will culminate in a carnival event in July.

• Lady Zia Wernher (Special) School
A Change School for Creative Partnerships, Festive Road is working with the children, their families and siblings helping them to decorate their school buses for Luton Carnival. We'll also be working at the school right through the summer making sensory installations inside and outside.

• Ashcroft High School, Luton
From 10th March -26th May Festive Road will be working with year 8's on an ‘Opening Minds' project all about climate change and global sport.

• Goldington Green Lower School, Bedford
Festive Road will be working with families and children from year 2, on the theme of carnival and then will be organising a whole school celebration event on 11th June.


Creative Partnerships for ‘Creative Junction'

• Northbourne CE School, Oxford
Festive Road will be continuing their work into the second year of this Change School over the spring term, on the theme of the ‘Environment'.

Creative Partnerships for ‘Mighty Creatives'

• Wolleston School, Northamptonshire
Festive Road is working with all of the year 8's on the story of carnival in June, making costumes and large structures to enter into Wellingborough Carnival

Other Projects

• Grendon Primary School, Northamptonshire
Festive Road is creating costumes and masks with staff and children which will culminate in a big carnival celebration at their school fete on 10th July
