About Us

Festive Road is a carnival arts company run by five professional artists. We are a Community Interest Company which means we are a not for profit organisation. 

We specialise in providing summer and winter carnival workshops, events and performances.

Workshops

We provide educational experiences in schools and groups in the community in carnival arts and its rich cultural history.

Young People / Education

We work with young people in educational settings, youth clubs, church groups, cultural centres and community centres. We bring new skills and ideas and enable people to think beyond the ordinary.

Communities

We bring people together; through community activities workshops and parades we break down social boundries and celebrate diversity. We work with communities encouraging ownership and sustainability through small and large scale celebratory events.

Project and Event Management

We have a long track record of project managing and organising events and parades.

Carnival Arts Training

Festive Road offer a range of courses in carnival arts training covering; mask making, creating illuminated figurines, lantern making, constructing big builds/semi big builds, costume making and much more. Dhol Drumming Group

Last year we set up Milton Keynes' first Dhol Drumming Band MK Dhol. The band perform at Festive Road's parades and festivals across the city and are available for bookings. For more information click the MKDhol link.

Soca Dance Group

Festive Road holds dance taster sessions with young people in schools and youth clubs with the aim of developing a carnival dance troupe to take part in carnivals and parades.

Starlight Samba Band

Festive Road supported Water Eaton Church from Bletchley to form a samba band. Festive Road secured funding to pay for drums and samba instruction from world class samba Instructor Damian Manning. We also held workshops to make costumes. The aim of the band is to be inclusive with people of all ages and ability and has 27 members, 13 are under 25 and 5 members have special needs.
